‼️ 2 Pakistanis killed in BSF firing on India-Pakistan border

♦️ Two Pakistani citizens have been killed in firing by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) on the international border in the Tarn Taran district of India's Punjab state. Pakistani sources and various media outlets have reported that one more person has been injured in the incident.

♦️ It has been claimed by the Pakistani side that the deceased were unarmed civilians and the BSF opened unprovoked fire at them after they had gone only a few steps inside from a border marker.

♦️ On the other hand, according to the statements of BSF officials quoted in Indian media, the deceased were suspected infiltrators and firing was opened as they continued to advance towards Indian territory despite being warned.

♦️ An investigation is underway regarding the identities of the deceased and the exact circumstances of the incident. As there are significant differences in the accounts of the Indian and Pakistani sides, how they crossed the border and what happened before the BSF opened fire—has not yet been independently confirmed.
