🇧🇩🇹🇷 Bangladesh Army Chief's MKE visit: New possibilities in defense cooperation

Bangladesh Army Chief General Waker-Uz-Zaman and his accompanying delegation visited the Gazi Firing Factory of the Turkish defense industry institution MKE.

During the visit, the delegation gained an idea about the factory's production activities, defense equipment, and ammunition manufacturing processes. MKE General Manager Ilhami Keles briefed the Bangladesh delegation on the institution's capabilities and potential for future cooperation.

In the meeting, various aspects of ammunition supply, technology exchange, and potential cooperation in the defense industry were discussed.

Defense cooperation with Turkey is increasing under Bangladesh's military modernization plan 'Forces Goal 2030'. As part of this, Turkey-made MKE BORAN 105 mm airborne light howitzers have been added to the Bangladesh Army.

Defense cooperation between the two countries is currently moving beyond just equipment procurement towards technology transfer, increasing local production capacity, and long-term industrial cooperation.
