Jamaat-e-Islami has expelled Satkhira-4 constituency Member of Parliament Gazi Nazrul Islam from the party. This decision was taken in an emergency meeting of the central executive council of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami on Wednesday (July 22) afternoon.

The meeting, held at the official residence of the Leader of the Opposition on Minto Road in the capital, was presided over by the organization's Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman. Members of the central executive council were present at the meeting.

In a press release issued by the party, it was stated,

Today, Wednesday, July 22, at 4 PM, an emergency meeting of the central executive council of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami was held. This meeting, held at the official residence of the Leader of the Opposition on Minto Road in the capital, was presided over by the organization's Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman MP. Members of the central executive council were present at the meeting.

Regarding the issues recently published in various media about Satkhira-4 constituency Member of Parliament Mr. Gazi Nazrul Islam, his moral turpitude was proven in an organizational investigation, and therefore, a decision was taken to expel him from Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami according to Article 62 of the constitution.

At the same time, it was decided to immediately inform the Bangladesh Election Commission about his expulsion from the organization.

Earlier, on Monday (July 20) night, a 'personal' video of Gazi Nazrul Islam with a young woman went viral on social media. Severe criticism started across the country over this incident. Although it was called a video all night long, as soon as the light of dawn broke, he claimed the young woman to be his second wife.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday (July 21) morning, another video spread through various media. In that 20-second video, it can be seen that Gazi Nazrul Islam and a young woman are standing in a room. On an ID card kept on the table there, it is written in English: Bangladesh Parliament. Right below it, it is written 13th Parliament. After that, there is a picture of Gazi Nazrul Islam. Below the picture, it is written G M Nazrul Islam. It is written as Member of Parliament for the designation. At this time, amidst the commotion, someone is heard saying, "Look, Satkhira Jamaat's man has been caught here with a girl. This elder here."
