To untangle one of the biggest unresolved mysteries of history and religious belief, a group of international scientists and researchers have now reached directly deep into the ground. For many years, there has been speculation about Durupinar, a 157-meter-long boat-shaped natural geological formation located near Mount Ararat in the eastern part of Turkey, that it might be the wreckage of the historical boat of Prophet Noah.

Under the joint initiative of Professor Senkar Atila, an archaeologist at Sivas Cumhuriyet University, and the Noah's Ark Scans team, and with the official permission of the Turkish government, the work of direct core drilling or collecting soil samples through deep tubes has begun there. Previously, three-dimensional images of the underground were taken through ground-penetrating radar and resistivity measurements, where hints of some unusual parallel layers and hollow structures were found under the soil. Meaning, you could say, perhaps fossils of wood from thousands of years ago.

Now, to verify the truth of those signals, direct physical samples of rocks, sediment, and potential organic materials are being brought out from the depths of the soil. Although a large section of geologists consider this formation to be merely a natural flow of mud and rock, the laboratory analysis of these collected samples will present, for the first time, irrefutable scientific evidence of whether it is merely a natural wonder or the oldest vessel in human history buried under the ground.
